So here we are in February and I decided to finally try this thing. On Saturday, I got my hair permed and was annoyed to wake up on Sunday with bed hair (yes, I had my head covered) and my hair bunched up in the back sticking up going in every direction except the one I need. Hubby tells me I toss and turn a lot, and my hair sure looked like I was all over the place that night. Looking in the mirror perplexed at the fact my hair no longer had that "just from the salon" look anymore (that was very short lived) I wanted to fix it. So I pulled out my Apalus brush (or so I thought) and here's what happened.
I'm reading the instructions on how to get started and I noticed a lot of grammar and spelling errors and I'm scratching my head thinking this can't be right, but kept on going. I turned on the brush to my desired temperature per the instructions. The temperature can be adjusted in intervals of 5 degrees which was really nice. I was a little surprised that it didn't make any noise. I thought it wasn't working at first. For some reason I expected it to make a blowing noise like a blow dryer. I felt it and realized that it was getting warm and the temperature gauge was counting up until it got to my desired heat setting. Then I just started to brush my hair as normal. I started using small sections, here are my results after only a few passes through my hair.
Per the instructions you can bump, twist and add a little curl or body with the brush, but my hair was too short to accomplish all that. I would expect ladies with longer hair could try that. I really liked how quick and silky smooth it made my hair. I've tried several products to try to straighten my hair and by far I like this one the best. I want to try it again after I wash and air dry my hair, as this is when it's the most frizzy. Stay tuned for update pics in a week or too.
OK so here is what my brush looks like. Seriously it looks almost exactly like the original product. I found the Apalus brush on Amazon and wanted to compare the differences. They are identical except mine says "Fast Hair Straightener" on the handle and the original product says "Apalus" on the handle. In addition, the original Apalus came with a few additional accessories like a travel case -- which I would have loved. If you decide to try the Apalus brush, I would definitely order it from Amazon.
